I first read this in 1999 and most recently in September 2001
Harry Gant is businessman intent on taking every good ideas as far as
it can be dragged, kicking and screaming, to its extreme. He's now
building the world's tallest building.
His ex-wife is working in the sewers under New York city and having
a remarkably tough time with the subterranean fauna.
Philo Dufresne, eco-terrorist, pilots an enormous submarine around the
world, easily evading the clutches of the world's law-enforcement
agencies.
Kite is one hundred and eighty years old, an ex-soldier and still
fighting.
An unusual and entertaining read. In the style of Pynchon, Ruff manages
a tour-de-force romp through a future America.
